What is G-SHARP?
G-SHARP is an out-of-school suspension program run by Youth Suspension Opportunities, Inc., a nonprofit organization that provides an alternative to students serving suspension at home.  G-SHARP is a voluntary program dedicated to addressing the needs of the student, parent/guardian, and school during a suspension.

It provides the student with:

  • A safe, structured environment
  • Volunteers who help students keep up with their academic assignments
  • Guidance and emotional support to ensure students' future success
Who can participate?

G-SHARP receives its funding from the City of Gaithersburg School-Based Nonprofit Youth Grant Program, collaborative partnerships, in-kind donations, and private donations.
